Yep. Common problem with that particular switch, if you run the fan on
"hi", the switch will eventually melt... haven't melted one on my '85
Vanagon yet, but I've only had it three years, so I know I will. I melted
two of these switches in the 10 years I owned my '87 VW Fox.
