Napa sells them. I have one. It said VW Transmission tool or something to
that effect on the package it's one of their specialty tools not one of the
generic allen wrenches. Just have them check the book they can order it for
like $15.

Subject: 17mm Transmission drain tool in Vancouver?

I want to change the tranny oil on my 4 speed 84 Westy.

The 17mm allen head drain plug (and filler plug) are really tight. I
tried a 17mm bolt with double nuts but it wouldn't work.

Does anyone know where I can buy/rent/borrow a 17mm hex socket or
17mm allen wrench near Vancouver BC? I've tried Canadian Tire,
Lordo, and Napa. None of them carry anything over 16mm.
