Not a Chevy, but much more appropriate for a Vanagon, I just finished the engine/transmission phase of my Project Vanagon. Last week marked the day the Vincent passed the 1,000 mile mark since I replaced the 2.1 wbx with a 3.2 liter Porsche flat-6 and G50 5-speed. Considering the scope of this undertaking, I was shocked, amazed, and thrilled that we had no problems whatsoever in the first thousand miles. No oil leaks, no smoke, no fires, and no nasty noises. I thought that for sure something would go wrong! Yesterday we did a valve adjustment on him and I hope to make it to the dyno sometime in the next few weeks.
