I just installed a Kenwood KRC-435 cassette player and a KDC-C667 6 CD
changer with remote in my '85 Westy.  It's even on Crutchfield's 'Fits
Vanagon" list.

It sounds really good and it's rich in features but I found that the remote
does everything I want it to except completely power down the system.  With
the remote I can get it to display "All Off" which appears to secure
everything but the display.  I guess I'll have to run a switch to the
sleeping area.

I just wanted to let you know in case you were considering one thinking the
remote would completely turn it off.
