Before starting a cross country drive, I started working to homogenize the various lists of VW friendly spots in the USA. The map is large, and hard to read: http://www.skidweeb.com/2004/map.cgi?hide=99&hide=1 It's pretty clear, you should choose to break down near Seattle. The data for the map is here: http://www.skidweeb.com/2004/index.cgi The longitude/latitude numbers are not for the exact location of each "resource", but the center of the town for the Zip Code of the person. There is also a bunch of "tourist spots" I had in there for my own sight-seeing. LET ME KNOW IF: If you would like a data-dump for your own site. If you're up on math and trig. I'd like to plot the spots on a better looking map, with some sort of zoom. Round planet, flat map, square coordinates. I'm not too clever. You have a list of Canadian postal codes, with geographic data. don't break it. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob Stevens" <mtbiker62@HOTMAIL.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Friday, November 05, 2004 11:24 AM Subject: Re: Roll call list > this is sort of like that: > http://www.type2.com/rescue/map.html > bob > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Chuck Reisinger" <chuckphoto@EARTHLINK.NET> > To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> > Sent: Friday, November 05, 2004 12:51 AM > Subject: Roll call list > > > I've learned from reading Westfalia.org....their RCL has been > lost....NOW...we could start our own....I'd be willing to try and keep it > going....packed with USEFUL info...included would be: > > State & Town > Name > Contact number & best time to call > How long you could stay > 110/H2O available > > Chime in with ideas and recommendations.... > > Info could be e-mail'd to me, organized, sent to anyone via email - upon > REQUEST.... > > Thanks > Chuck >
