Check the voltage of the battery. Make sure it is at least 12.5v or higher (depending on temperature, type of battery, and current state of charge.) if below that check the voltage out on the terminal clamps as well as directly on the terminals and make sure you have good clamp connection. (did you reclamp tightly?) With the engine running check the voltage at the battery. Should read about 13.5v or higher if the alternator is working. Check the battery terminal connections and alternator connections that meet at the starter terminal. Check the battery ground. Check the transmission engine ground. jimt On 11/25/04 4:27 PM, "Son Of A Vanagon" <sonofavanagon@YAHOO.COM> wrote: > Hello all- > On the day of thanks I am reminded of just how much I > love my westy! > > I have an ill '84 westy. > Anyone have any ideas regarding the Battery and Oxygen > Sensor dash lights coming on at the same time?? > This morning I was 10 minutes into an hour long drive, > on the freeway and doing about 65 mph when I noticed > that both lights were on, pulled off at the next exit > to check belts, fluids, fuses, and wires in the engine > compartment.
