I have a customer that bought a 91 GL Vanagon (maroon of course) that has been converted to an ABA engine with the crossflow head (97 Jetta). Anyway the original convertor guy bought a conversion adapter from Kennedy and then modified some diesel carrier bars so that the engine sits about 5-6" lower than stock so that the large cross flow manifold would fit under the engine lid. By doing this the automatic transmission is tilted toward the engine on about a 10-15 degree angle. I would like advice/opinions on if this is going to cause problems down the road for the customer or is the angle slight enough so as to not be a problem? If it is a problem what would the proper way of getting everything back in a level line be? Lower the transmission or raise the engine? Any advice you can give would be appreciated. Thanks, Ken Wilford John 3:16 www.vanagain.com
