Matt, I have found that my 2wd 2.1 WBX Vanagons in good tune get about 16-18 mpg in combined city/highway cycle. Our traffic in the San Francisco area is not as bad as SoCal though. A steady clip of 70mph on I-5 gets me about 17mpg. My 2.2 turbo Subie powered rig only gets 14mpg but I typically drive in the 90's on freeways. Combined city/highway in my Syncro with a 1.9TD is close to 32mpg. I used to get 35mpg when it was a 1.6TD. Unfortunately I don't dirve it enough to have confirmed data. I am still in the break-in period for the new engine. BenT On Mon, 6 Dec 2004 20:06:54 -0800, Matthew C.
