Jim, yesereee !  I did that long ago and  I'll bet mine would give yours
competition in the ugly beat up phone  contest.  Covered with POR-15 smudges,
Vanagon grease &  grime, wipe it down with lacquer thinner at least once a week
and drop it  on the floor a gazillion times and guess what ?  IT'S STILL WORKING
!   Must be the toughest piece of crap the Chinese ever made.
