Merry Christmas Volks, Request ..... a favor in the Seattle, WA area!! Matthew Pollard & I have a project we need help with. Project code named: "Ho Ho Go". A few friends and I have put together something called "The Pay it Forward Fund" where we help VW Bus owners, who may be short of resources, get their vehicles back on the road. Our first project was to purchase a rebuilt automatic transmission and have it installed. That Bus is happily on the road headed to Mexico and the southwest for the Christmas Holidays. Daryl Christensen of AAtransaxle was an enormous help in acquiring the tranny as were the guys at Heckman-Theiman in Portland who did the R&R. You may have seen recent public thanks on this. The next project "Ho Ho Go", one that Matthew & I are working on, is to help get a replacement engine in a Vanagon that blew its original this past Spring. So far we have: A good used 2.1L Waterboxer replacement engine ... waiting to go. All the odds and ends parts needed .... donated by Volks Cafe of Santa Cruz. What we need to find is a shop in the Seattle area, to do the install and give us a break on the R&R labor. We are looking for suggestions on shops to contact that might be willing to help. If you have any influence with the owner ... all the better. Any suggestions? Respectfully, Larry Chase www.roadhaus.com <http://www.roadhaus.com/>
