Change the belt ! Its possible to takem apart and inside there is a spring, kinda like in the pulley on a chainsaw thats a real pain to get in place if it jumps out ( and chances are high that it will !!!) and you also need to get all the parts in the right order to lock. Play it safe and get a new one - its not expensive compared to the medical costs if you should be involved in a crash and it fails Calle ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Schaper" <JSchaper@SCHSA.ORG> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Wednesday, December 22, 2004 1:38 AM Subject: Seat Belt Retractors > The problem is that, particularly, the driver seat belt barely retracts > (84 > Westfalia). Must be some kind of spring retractor in the reel on the door > jamb. Any suggestions or thoughts on how to fix this problem? >
