Lets examine what we are talking about here. You buy this
wonderful vehicle for $7500. Then add $3000 for a motor.
Then fix the springs, fix the VC, and a few other things,
notes. Your up around and easy $11,000. There are
MANY good used Syncro with outall the work, for a lot less.
Don't matter how good of shape, it looks.
Vehicles will only very in price as much as the cost of
transportation to move the vehicle. I have friends in
the business. If this was even remotely close in price
he would have been breathing down my neck.
Now about housing. It has no relevance. When is the
last time you moved a house. Enough said.
You can easily get a beautiful paint job using
an old enamel paint for $2500.00, and most people
would not know the difference for the first year.
Last but not least. I hate it when I get into a repair
area and find someone else had been in there
and screw everything up real good. This way I not only
have to replace warn parts, but I have to guess at the mess
they made also. A classic sign of this is lowering a vehicle
by cutting (in this case heating) the springs. Steve obviously
realized his mistake, but clearly want to dump this
problem and the rest of his mess off on someone else.
