Hi Jim, Between the flanges? Not sure why they would be there. Depending on the bolt length and if you got a replacement converter with the oblong holes, you should only need to use (maybe) a washer under the bolt head and a lock-washer under the nut. Trying to be perfect, I usually install one flat washer under the bolt head, and then one flat washer, one lock-washer (split style) under the nut. Sometimes the arrangement only allows for the lock-washer and nut. At the big flange between the cat and the manifold pipe, there is a iron ring gasket, and three bolts go through the mating flanges. When I removed the bolts, there were a number of washers and spacers between the flanges that look like they were there for a purpose. Should they go back in the way they came out, throw them in the trash, secret procedure??? Thanks, Jim -- No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
