Subject:cv boots that will last??
From:Warren Lail

I have the tranny out of Billy Bones right now, and as I mentioned on an earlier post, several of the cv boots need
replacing. I replaced one just before Christmas, drove it 2500 miles, and the rubber portion completely pulled
away from the metal part. I installed it right where the old one came off, but it almost looks either too short
and was thus stretched beyond its ability, or the rubber is so firm that it disengaged the housing before
stretching to accomodate axle swing. I'm thinking it was a poor quality boot.

Either way, the boot needs to be replaced again. Who among our list vendors has GOOD QUALITY replacement
boots? Anyone have experience with different boots from different vendors?

Thanks.
