Strange but that V10 option when first offered was only something like 500 engines available. They were gone the first day with most on the east coast time zone with a few in central time zone. West coast and mountain didnt get any out of the first batch offered. VW offered them as excess to their european needs. After that they became a regular option. The trick is that the V10 is so big and heavy that it gets a new front end to hold it up. Also a beefed up transmission. The toureg was available with a smaller diesel but there are states that have made it almost impossible to send new diesels to them. In europe there is the R5 and the V6 diesel. jimt Planned insanity is best.
