23 cwt (that's twenty-three hundredweight) of builders' sand for my kids' sandbox. I roped a tarp in the space where the middle seat usually goes, shovelled it in while the kids played in the sand pile, and it worked pretty well. They rode too so including me, that's about 235# of human that you'd have to add to the total weight. I got it cheap (first time around) because the builders' supply guy did not believe his own truck weighing scale, and the van rode kinda low, but we made it and put many k on that van afterwards. It was the 83 1/2 with the sunroof, btw Steve >today.. >one motor on a pallet, one vanagon a/c system, 4 vanagon front doors, 1 rear >hatch, 1 sliding door, pair of capt chairs, 1 rear weekender bed, 2 wheels and >tires, 2 boxes of vanagon bits, extra dash, 8 doorpanels , 1 rabbit pickup >cap, 1 vanagon gas tank, 1 bumper..and im sure some other stuff i missed.. >all the above was put in a vanagon passenger van.. >thats the most crap ive ever stuffed into a van (packing it strategically to >avoid damage of course..) >it was packed almost to the headliner.. > >whats the most youve ever stuffed into your vanagon?? > >chris
