Sounds like a product that was returned to the vendor because it was 3mm too long and the purchaser cleaned them with gasoline before he shipped them back. I opened the package and a strong smell of gasoline coming out of the lifters package. I was holding a lifter and wipe it with a clean paper tower, I found some residual dirt came out of the lifter. Also these lifters are about 3mm longer than those I pulled out from the engine block. I do not feel comfortable installing this new lifters onto the engine, as you know, it takes an awful lot of efforts to replace it if the lifters are not right. I would greatly appreciate any suggestion about the gasoline smelling lifters. > > Leo, 1991 Westy Multivan, 110,000mls > > > -- > No virus found in this incoming message. > Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. > Version: 7.0.300 / Virus Database: 266.6.0 - Release Date: 3/2/2005 > > -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
