As one who previously drove a '67 Dodge Dart V8 that got 12MPG, steered
like a barge, braked like an oil tanker (4 wheel drums!) and required
constant repairs, I have to cast my vote as you have. Besides, if you want
safety, reliability, and economy you should buy a 5 year old Honda Civic
and disappear into the crowd like everyone else.
