Do the CV bolts require lock washers? Locktite?

I seem to recall reading about both  of these once or twice. None of my CV
bolts has any lock washers, and I don't see them in the Bentley, so maybe
not? They do have those 'shoulder things' one for every two bolts, but I
don't see enough length on the bolts for a lock washer.  Should there be
loctite on the bolts as well, or instead of, lock washers? Any particular
flavor of loctite?
