I read recently that in the capital city of China, Beijing, one thousand new cars were being licensed each day. I recently finished the Jared Diamond book "Collapse." In it he states that if the Chines were to achieve the first-world living standards that they crave, and all other living standards were to remain as they are today, that alone would account for a 97% increase in demand on world natural resources, which of course is unsustainable. It's coming. Jim On Mar 18, 2005, at 9:08 PM, Stan Wilder wrote: >> But Stan, I don't think this would do any good.
