It's parked at my Dad's place... this morning he was having a look at it and decided to try turning the key. The starter engages and turns the flywheel, but the engine does not turn over. Is this potentially a simple problem with the flex plate, starter, TC or flywheel; or is it more likely that the PO is correct and the engine is toast? I might be able to spare some time to look at it over easter weekend and was wondering what I should tackle first. Greg, that's the very common broken flex plate problem. Those flex plates are the same on all Bus/Vanagon auto trannys. They are NLA at the dealer so get looking for a good used one. No, I do not have one at this time.
