The shield simply clips on. Remove it carefully as it is like a $30
part.

I going to replace the Oxygen sensor in my '90 Carat. There is a heat
shield
that seems to prevent putting a wrench on the sensor. Does the exhaust
system
have to be dropped to get to the sensor?
