I had a drive shaft like that on my Westy Syncro. I just replaced it. In other words, it can get unbalanced just like the original. I also found the one on my Westy to be heavier than the OEM replacement. However, you may find it difficult to get the OEM ones (my local dealer said they were on a nationwide backorder...though we found one at another VW dealer. ) On Mar 30, 2005, at 11:34 AM, Vanagon Anonymous wrote: > Hello Syncro owners, > The life of my driveshaft is nearing it's end and I'm faced with the > decision to buy a new driveshaft, or look for alternatives. It seems > GoWesty has a driveshaft they are promoting that has changed the > overall design. > > Anyone have any experience with GoWesty's modified Syncro Driveshaft? > > Any thoughts on how the design change may affect the VC or Trani? > > Thanks, > Mark > 89 Syncro
