Subject:Re: and coolant leak at pressure tank

Okay, here's one for the books (archives).
Some years ago, on my '90 Westy, I found coolant inside the black box at the left
front corner of the engine compartment. Several times, I cleaned it out, rinsed it,
dried it, only to have the coolant re-appear. Replaced the hose and checked the clamps
and everything else in the vicinity, thinking a small leak was spraying coolant on the
box. Found no leaks.
Cut to the end of the story here. The wire from the coolant sensor on top of the
expansion tank leads into this box. Whether by capillary action or what, that's where
the coolant was coming from. Put in a new sensor and no more coolant in the black box.
Believe it or not.

Subject: Master cylinder leak and coolant leak at pressure tank

My coolant leak is kind of stange. Coolant puddles around the coolant level sensor on
the coolant pressure tank. My coolant pressure tank is two years old and I just
replaced the coolant level sensor thinking that my old one was leaking. The coolant
is still puddling aroung my new sensor after I leave the motor cool down. I cannot
figure where it is comming from as today it was just siting right in top of the sensor
and not in the little recess on the tank at all. Could it be comming out of the
electical conection in the sensor? Thanks
