They all break, tachs too and tabs where cluster mounts to dash No, not from speedo cable or pushing odo reset. VW cut corners all over using cheap plastic, not using brass inserts like all self-respecting car companies do. And that monster of AC evaporator hanging in the back of your Vanagon it's all held by cheap crumbling breaking plastic.Instead of good engineering attaching evaporator to the roof and making cover for it. How about power window switch bezels, they break while installing. Total insanity. And those little lights above, crumbling...glovebox light pos Not just VW, VDO did "their part" with breaking plastic speedos, meaningless fuel level gages etc I pull engines and harness from Subaru Legacy and this car is built like military yet.Need large sledge hummer to break things.Nothing ever breaks and will last 100 years.Probably the safest and most reliable car i know of. My guess they cared about us(drivers)lot more than VW ever did Not a rant, just reality Leon On Sat, 16 Apr 2005 20:31:17 -0500, Jeff Palmer <icecoldvw@HOTMAIL.COM> wrote: > Why does it seem that only speedometer mounts break but never tach > mounts? > Aren't they the same?
