Subject:Re: Get a gmail account just for this list OR try sub folders and filters

Larry,

I think the best move, not the 2nd best move is to set up separate sub
folders under "local folders" in your email software for any grouping of
email that brings in substantial volume. I have separate folders for
the vanagon.com list, several Syncro folders, the Subaruvanagon list,
and another for VW Camping / VWfulltimers. I also have a cluster of
folders and sub folders that collect and sort several lists related to
astronomy. I have filters set up in the software to put the appropriate
email in the appropriate folder as they come in.

Thus none of the email from any of these groups, and together it is
several hundred a day, goes directly into the inbox. When I want to
read subaruvanagon email, for example, I go to that sub folder and catch
up.

I have another folder for several lists about cooking. Most of what is
there isn't of interest to me, so I only look there about once a week,
but rather than a digest that I have to wade through, I see each email
listed separately and can click on the title / header of the ones that
interest me.

I have tried digest and find it much more time consuming than this method.

I do have to admit that I have a Gmail account and haven't used it for
any of my email lists as I am quite content with what I have set up now
and I never have to worry about overflowing allotted account space or
loosing it for some other reason.
