When you remove the fridge, air fills the gas supply pipe from the tank to the fridge connection. You need to get this air out before the fridge will run correctly on propane. Running the stove for a while first may help some but the stove has it's own supply pipe that runs all the way back to the tank, where it joins the pipe for the fridge. Running the stove does not cause much flow through the fridge supply pipe. You need to hold down the fridge safety button for a few minutes to purge the air. Then pump the air pump a bunch of times, wait a few minutes for any excess gas in the fridge burn chamber to dissipate, then try the normal lighting procedure. The most common mistake people make in trying to light the fridge is flooding the chamber with too much propane. If you hear a pop or boom when trying to light it that means you flooded it. Wait a couple minutes before trying again, and use the air pump repeatedly as the first step. Then start clicking the lighter button before next pushing in the safety button but keep clicking the lighter or you can flood it again. The sight glass is a royal pain except at night with nothing in the fridge floor area. The panel pilot LED tends to come on dimly at best and only after the pilot has lit and been running for a few seconds. Keep clicking the lighter once per second until the led comes on or you will likely flood again.
