Brian - I have Yakima racks on my poptop using the side loaders. It works fine. What are you planning to put up there? I was traveling with a kayak and a bag of paddles and stuff - about 65 pounds of gear up there. It was too much for me to lift the poptop by myself, definitely took two people. It might have been possible for one tall male to lift alone, but I wouldn't totally count on it. I regularly asked people to help - got one guy who was macho and said he didn't need my help. He did. I'm sure some guys could do it alone, but not all. (All in past tense because I got fed up with not being able to raise the poptop alone, and I wasn't paddling that much, so I finally left the kayak behind. For now at least.) If you're traveling with someone else, though, it shouldn't be a problem. Joy ******************************************************************* Dr. Joy E.
