One of the first things the Navy teaches new sailors about shipboard life is the threat of 'missile hazards' during storms, hard maneuvers, etc. Guess they've had more than a few instances of having to remove ball point pens (among other things) from various body parts so it's become part of the standard safety training. Same principle applies to cars- all the air bags and seat belts in the world won't do you a bit of good if you get smacked in the head by a loose tire iron moving at 50 mph. RE: Driving with the LP on on the reefer.... For years I drove with the LP on and cooling the refrigerator, never had it blow out. Then I rolled the Westy. (I Don't recall if the frig was on or not). Remembering the smell of gas after the rollover and thinking about that, I now (in my replacement Westy) shut the gas off at the tank and run on the DC while driving. And oh yeah, NOTHING is loose in the van when on the road now. Look at where things end up in a rollover just once, and with virtually no forward speed at the time, and you'll do the same.
