Even if it wasnt the heads it would be the head gaskets. Once blow by has occurred tightening isn't a good solution. The blow by is extremely corrosive in that the steam vapor will literally plow a track through the gasket and the metal of the head with pitting usually. jimt On 5/27/05 12:12 PM, "ROBERT DONALDS" <donalds1@VERIZON.NET> wrote: > Z > My guess would be cracked heads > > Bob Donalds > Boston Engine > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Zoltan" <zolo@FOXINTERNET.NET> > To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> > Sent: Friday, May 27, 2005 12:14 PM > Subject: BLowing white smoke > > > This morning the car started rough and than started to blow white smoke. > The engine was reconditioned 2k miles ago. > Would retightening help? > Zoltan > >
