My mirror problem is solved. First the wires were all broken between the drivers door and the dash. I replaced them. I tested the passenger door wires to the connector behind the glovebox...luckily they were all good. I thought it was the switch, even tried a couple of different switches. It turns out the brown (ground) wire going to the SWITCH connector was not making contact with the switch. A few jiggles in the connector contacts with a pointing tool fixed it. I guess the brown wire is used for the mirror motors, but not the clutch since my mirror clutches worked. Thanks to Marco from The BusLab for helping troubleshoot and repair it... -Paul >Paul, > >The "click" in both mirrors is the clutch that switches the single motor in >each mirror into "up-down" mode instead of "right-left" mode. > >If neither mirror moves, I'd expect it *not* to be the motors... more >likely the switch, or a wiring problem.
