once more, this time with a subject line :-)

what I want to do is install a wiring kit for a small trailer; there
are some kits which are powered directly from the battery, so they
don't put a burden on the old wiring system. Now instead of hooking
it up directly to the battery via a fuse, is it possible to hook it
up directly to the alternator via fuse? The reason is that the
alternator is at a more convenient location...
