I too have been looking into a new radio unit for my 87 syncro. I sold my
Pioneer deck with the remote with my 85 sunroof, had thoughts about pulling
it out but they are not too expensive and I knew then I wanted digital input
and ability to play mp3.

Quite a few of the new decks have the digital input so you can run any type
of device. perhaps you want to watch a dvd in the back and use the vans
sound system.

The remote sure is nice when you are in the back of the van or up top.
