Hi Wesley, It probbably is the Temp2 sender, a cheap and easy fix. It "thinks" the engine is cold and causes the computer to send too much fuel, thus causing the flooding. Flooding engine? > After everything else, now this.... My battery/alternator seem to be okay, but now I'm having persisting difficulties starting the van (currently stuck at a gas station between pittsburgh and harrisburgh). It seems possible that the engine is simply flooding every time I turn it off---I say this only because the problem seems to occur more often when the car has been only recently shut off. Then again, waiting 15-20 minutes doesn't always help (which is why I hiked to this internet terminal...). Also, although it might be my imagination, my idle rate seems distinctly faster than I remember. > > Anybody have any ideas of what I could try to get it going? Is there some faster way to start a flooded engine other than waiting (and perhaps more effective?) Pushing the pedal all the way hasn't been fruitfull, unfortunately. > > Thanks very much for any help! > > If anyone wants to increase their chances of reaching me with their advice, they might try my cell phone instead of email: 412 708 3772. Or personal email, which I can sometimes check from the road (or on the side of it) on my cell phone (but not list email). Thanks very much for any help.... > > -Wes
