This thread finaly got my attention Vanagon horn is barely audible, comparable to ...old bycicle horn Anyone driving Vanagon and wants to be heared needs to get REAL horn. Among cheapest options(one i use) Audi 5000 twin hi-lo horn, mounts same way. the only catch is need for heavier wire to horn thru relay There are plenty of other options at FLAPS, any of those would be great improvement Leon On Sat, 18 Jun 2005 10:50:56 -0400, Wil Haslup <wil@CHARMFX.COM> wrote: > George Goff wrote: >> In a message dated 6/17/05 5:36:19 PM, wil@CHARMFX.COM writes: >> >> << I think the trouble is in the horn button....when it does work it >> sounds >> >> weak so I'm thinking it isn't grounding well. >> >> >> First things first; before you take things apart, check the horn at the >> horn. >> >> George > > I had already cleaned the contacts on the horn but wasn't getting much > out of it there either. > > Still...I got the button off yesterday evening and cleaned up the > contacts.
