Subject:2.1 is NOT overheating...sensor popped out of Coolant Tank...diagnosis???
From:kevin obrien

Hello All:

After a long uphill stretch tonight I found coolant
leaking and my Sensor popped out of my Coolant
Expansion Tank.

I had been watching my temp gauge and it didn't
register overheating at all.

Now I'm sitting here steaming (like the coolant
spilled on my engine!)...contemplating yet ANOTHER bad
head gasket scenario!!! I just replaced this engine
45K or so ago...because I was battling suspect
combustion gasses!

Can anything else in my system be causing this
scenario? I had a new radiator installed along with
this engine...so I assume it is good.

What is the DEFINATIVE test for combustion gasses
leaking?

Can anything else cause my Sensor to pop, etc?

Thanks in advance for suggestions...

Kevin
