Yup, about six years ago I replaced it with a pair of air-horn style deals
that are "tuned" to create max resonance when honked. Can't remember where I
got them... maybe a marine store? I don't recall having any problems with
space, but I'll have to take a look again sometime - it might not be exactly
where the old one was.

Scared the sh*t out of some dumb darting pedestrians and a few folks who
thought they could cut off a Vanagon. Nobody expects that much noise from a
VW - they're all used to the little "bleeep" factory horns.
