I would think it more important to start the vehicle once a week and let it run. Drive it once every two weeks at least. This warms up bearings and seals and keeps things lubricated. Otherwise, seals harden and leak. Internal metal surfaces get drained of the oil coatings rom the last running and are exposed to moisture in the air and consequent condensation. Grease hardens and cakes up, resulting in loss of lub. And particularly if you have Air Conditioning you definitely want to run that once a week. If you don't you will come to a time - sooner than later - when the seals are hardend and it will not hold the refrigerant. Keeping the AC oils well circulated is important to maintaining the condition of the seals. You are better off running it frequently rather than changing oil and filter frequently - in this case. I've been using the calendar as my guide rather than the odometer and changing oil (20w50) and filter (Mann) every 4 months. Is this excessive? Would it be ok to drop down to 6 month intervals? Seems like a waste of oil and filters when there is only about 700 miles between changes; but always think of it as cheap insurance...
