Can someone tell me the part number of the above piece. Ss per Bentley's=20
manual says, it's located just behind left headlight.

Seems to be responsabible for my cooling fan only working on high mode.

I have a syncro 1991 with air conditionning and my understanding is that I=
=20
have a 3 speed fan and that this pice somehow control the fan speed? is thi=
s=20
correct?

In The ETKA 6.2 it seems to be called otherwise (series resistor for=20
electric  fan)

They list two differents parts number.

200/300 watts 251  971 284 E
500 watts 251 971 284 H

Are these the correct parts? If so which one do I need and where to get it?

JP, the 251 971 284H, series resistor for the rad fan is the one you need
for a van with AC. They are only available from your friendly neighbourhood VW
dealer. I just had to change the one on my CARAT, that's why I know !
