John- From the outside of the van, look at the part of the window that slide. On both edges there should be 2 black plastic insets that allow the window to slide on tracks it sits in. This prevent the two metal frames from touching. These plastic inserts often dry out and crack apart. Replacing them is straight forward I would grease them a bit so they don't bends (the plastic inset) while you push them in. I bought some from Ken at Van-again cost about a buck each 2 per window. I am still somewhat confused as to whether these glides mount to the glass or mount to the channel in which the glass rides. They are missing on my windows.
