<< I think some form of fretting corrosion might be caused by insufficient tightening torque especially since the fasteners are hardened steel and the tightening spec calls for more torque than mechanics normally use for wheel mounting. George>> Why is it folks refuse to " A Little dab will do Ya" as far as applying anti seize to the lug nuts / studs? Let them rust up and they sure will cause some headaches down the road, or for that matter on the side of the road. Here's another thought. Why break your back with cave man techniques when rechargable impact's are as common as screwdriver's nowaday's? My wheels / tires go on with an air impact, and come off with a rechargable impact on the road if needed. Wouldn't leave home without this tool. It makes tire swapping as easy as putting peanut butter and jelly on bread. Cheater bars? Whats that? This is 2005 , not 1905 Right?
