I had a similar problem that was somehow caused by the system running  out
of Freon.  Apparently, it "freezes up" when the system gets empty  causing the
leak.  My trusty mechanic ;-) figured this one out within 5 minutes  and
recharged
the system.  No more problem.  Good luck!
