Ben, I got an extension custom made. Here's a pic: http://www3.telus.net/public/tabe/vanagon/oilpress.jpg On the left, a stainless braided line surrounds a teflon tube. The end of that has a flare fitting with a captive nut of unknown threads. Next along is an adapter to get me male M10, then a female to female M10 for the sender. tabe johnson/87 westy > > Date: Wed, 20 Jul 2005 09:40:59 -0700 > From: Ben S <phlogiston420@GMAIL.COM> > Subject: Re: Oil Pressure Gauge install > > hey tabe, > > what extension are you using? i bought the one that volks cafe sells > as part of their oil pressure gauge kit. when i originally called and > talked to peter, he said that the fittings on the extension are all > M10... but now from reading the writeup that ben from volkscafe did > for their web page, i am thinking that maybe it is really 1/8"npt, as > he makes some comment about the threads being compatible. either way, > no big deal, as i bought a M10 to 1/8"npt adapter from summit racing > (it's an autometer part, as are my gauge and npt sender)... so if i > determine the extension hose really is npt, then i'll just put the > adapter on the engine side of the extension instead of the gauge side. ___________________________________________________ Post your free ad now! http://personals.yahoo.ca
