Bob, I usually start with this page: http://gerry.vanagon.com/archives/vanagon.html You can either click 'search the archives' on the left, which gives you a search engine, or you can click a given week on the right and use the brute force approach. If you click on the link for this week you will see a list of the post subject lines- look for 'heli-coil' or 'engine drain' or the like, you should find what you're looking for, such as: "I thought it was long established that a "Time-Sert" brand thread insert was the best way to repair a stripped drain hole. It sounds like the perfect fix in this situation to me. http://www.timesert.com/ Exactly ! The Sav-A-Thread device is similar to a Timesert. I just gave the wrong thread pitch kit, too early in the morning and I grabbd the wrong kit to get the info from. Needs to be 14mm x 1.5 as others have pointed out. Cheers, Frank Condelli" Good luck, Robert ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob Mac" <BOBMACDOWELL@WEBTV.NET> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Sunday, July 24, 2005 12:02 PM Subject: How to search the archives > I have yet to figure out how to go back a few pages on this site.
