The late bus and vanagon standard trans starters are all the same bolt up.
The difference is in the power each will handle.
The weakest is the late bus and 1980 vanagon
Next is the starter used to the first water boxers.
Then the 1.9 starter.
The strongest is the 2.1 starter.
