VW rebuilds are available again. They are rebuilt in Germany. I installed one a few weeks ago. Worked flawlessly except it took a while for the oil pump to prime. It had a brand new case, rebuilt heads. Quiet, smooth, no leaks. I ordered it through Jim Ellis VW in Chamblee GA and had my own, trusted, independent mechanic do the installation. That was at 141,000 miles and it's still going strong at 218,000 miles now. There are no more VW Canada rebuilt waterboxers. VW stopped this about a year or so ago.
