Seems to me like carrying a couple of those emergency CO2 powered boat horns
might be a good idea whether you're hiking or just trying to sleep.
In the recent bear attacks it seems that nobody shot a bear, beat on a bear
but all were driven off by gunfire or lots of noise.
If I ever get attacked I'm sure my screaming will just infuriate the damn
bear and make him meaner.
