Subject:Re: removing fuel pump from bracket

I had almost the same problem.
I went ahead and cut it.
When I reassembled the unit, I used a piece of hose to cushion the
bracket and pump.

Can anyone suggest how to remove the fuel pump ('85 1.9) from the bracket without cutting through the rubber "buffer" that cushions it? The nuts and bolts are rusted on, and no amount of penetrating oil seems to work. I might try to cut off the nut and see if I can slip it through the rubber piece. I'm not sure that I can get at the top one.

Thanks,
Ed
