Hi Pascal, I bought both the muffler and the SS J-pipe from Stebro. Fiber gaskets were (are?) recommended for any SS joint. So I needed one fiber gasket for the collector to J-pipe joint , one for the J to Cat joint, and one between the Cat and muffler. If you only have the muffler you are in much better shape and you can't damage your catalytic converter with gasket bits the way mine was. tabe johnson/87 westy > Date: Thu, 11 Aug 2005 08:02:35 -0300 > From: "Giasson, Pascal (DNR/MRN)" <Pascal.Giasson@GNB.CA> > Subject: Re: Broken Stebro Muffler Bracket / Malcolm's trip + FIBER > EXHAUST GASKET WARNING > > I have not installed my Stembro yet on my '84 Westy but all this talk > about gaskets got me thinking why do you not use a stock OE gasket > upstream of the cat instead of a "donut" gasket?=20 > > > Pascal __________________________________________________________ Find your next car at http://autos.yahoo.ca
