Hey Malcolm,

Yeah, I'm with you.  I got the muffler setup because I thought I
would never have to fool with the muffler again for as long as
I owned the van.  Contrary to my hopes, over the past two years,
it's probably been the one thing I've had to maintain most
frequently!  Some people have time to put in wood floors (grr, nice)
some of us have to replace exhaust gaskets and brackets....

Anyway, for something constructive:  If you decide to go with the fiber
gaskets I've found one that appears to have better longevity than the
first ones I got from FLAPS.  They all cross reference; I just had to
look at the different ones they stocked.  If you go with metal, please
report how they do!
